Skills and qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 3 or more years of non-profit management experience or other related management experience.
  • Strong leadership skills, organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Skills to collaborate with staff, volunteers and the Association’s membership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power point.

Specific duties, responsibilities and expectations

The Business Manager will lead the RGA team and oversee the Association’s administration, programs and assist the Board with strategic planning and direction. This position reports directly to the elected Board of Directors of the Association and will have the following general responsibilities-


  • co-ordinate with external professional, civic and private organizations (CRA, WorkSafeBC, Employment Standards, City of Richmond as well as other parties) to ensure smooth functioning of the Association.
  • Support and work closely with the Association’s Board of Directors and provide feedback as necessary to ensure that the Board can take informed decisions.
  • Administer the funds of the Association according to the approved budget, liaise with the financial consultant to organize and reconcile the finances and accounts.
  • Responsible for supporting and serving the Association’s membership and adhering to the highest ethical standards showing integrity, compassion and fairness to all by dealing in a manner that supports and guides the Association’s mission and vision.

Overall management

  • Liaise with the coordinator of programs within the Association to ensure that the programs are designed, planned and executed with efficiency.
  • Oversee the office management and ensure that the proper program registration procedures are followed.
  • Will be responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the Association in conjunction with the Board of Directors’ signed approval.

Human Resources

  • Communicate regularly with all employees and ensure smooth communication and functioning of the programs and the Association.
  • Coordinate and finalize the employees’ schedule to maintain efficiency and to ensure tasks are duly completed.
  • Identify and utilize the diverse talents of the Association’s membership, allowing the club to operate more effectively, efficiently and in a fiscally responsible manner.


Recreational Coach

Hours:                                  Part time

Certification:                       Level 1 trained and above


Specific duties, responsibilities and expectations

  • Work in conjunction with Head Recreational coach
  • Support and embody the RGA constitution, by-laws, policies and procedures
  • Maintain cooperation and teamwork
  • Attend all required meetings as requested
  • Maintain the standard and quality of a healthy coaching environment
  • Work with partner coaches to develop detailed class plans
  • Implement class goals based on programs and participant performance
  • Maintain current knowledge teaching styles and program requirements
  • Have current CPR-C certification and Criminal Record Check
  • Continuously evaluate participant progress and adjust skills to offer optimal challenge for each child
  • Document, distribute and report injuries per Association and GBC requirements
  • Communicate progress to parents and feel comfortable giving feedback to participants during class
